Wayfarers Lodge of Mark Master Masons Dedicate their Lodge Banner
Tuesday 3rd of October, saw the Wayfarer's Lodge of mark Master Masons hold its regular meeting at the historic St.Giles Masonic Centre on the outskirts of Colchester Military Garrison.
There was a dual purpose at the meeting, not only were they to Advance a candidate, but also, having celebrated 50 years of existence last year, there was a Lodge Banner to dedicate.
The Lodge being opened, the Provincial Grand Master, RWBro Terence Sheern, escorted by the Provincial GDC, WBro Michael James West, and accompanied by members of his Executive and Active Provincial Officers was received to acclaim.
The meeting saw the Advancement of Brother Jason Edmonds a Master Mason from Grey Friars Craft Lodge. The Ceremony was carried out by the WM, WBro Vic Hodson assisted by his Officers in an exemplary manner.
After the Ceremony, the PGM occupied the Chair and appoited his provincial Officers to dedicate the new Lodge Banner. In a Ceremony not often seen, the banner was presented to the PGM by the WM and an escort of Lodge members. It was received and unveiled and all were treated to an interesting and informative Oration on this banner in particular and banners in general, by the Provincial GChaplain, VWBro Desmond Payne-Jeremiah.
The Banner, commisioned by W.Bro. James Burgoyne, now stands with honour in the Temple when Wayfarers meet.
The business of the evening having ended, all retired to a fine festive board. where old aquaintances were renwed and new ones made.
