Meet the "New" Mark Executive and Senior Acting Officers
Now that the new APGM, Provincial Secretary and Director of Ceremonies have found their feet, we thought we would give you a chance to know a bit more about them. They were posed a few common questions and reproduced below are their answers.
Just to help you along here is a brief resume of their roles.
An APGM is a direct representative of the PGM. He is enabled to act, at the PGM's request, with his authority within the Province. He, along with the other APGM and the Deputy PGM, are the senior advisers in the Province and assist the PGM in the running of it. To this end, each APGM has a specific portfolio as well as a discrete number of Lodges that they "keep an eye on" as well as assisting and advising the members of those Lodges. They are appointed by patent and are entitled to wear the appropriate Chain when acting officially.
The Provincial Grand Secretary is appointed as an Acting Officer by the PGM on an annual basis. He is responsible for the administration of the Province, he directly liaises with relevant GLMMM staff on behalf of the PGM, maintains all Lodge and member records and updates KOL. He is responsible for ensuring all Lodge meetings and their activities are held withing the Rules in the Book of Constitutions and will assist Lodge Secretaries with the correct interpretation and implementation of them. He also meets with Secretaries in their "specialist" Lodge, Stilus et Denarius".
The Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies is also appointed as an Acting Officer on an annual basis. He is responsible for all matters Ceremonial and Ritual. As well as being the main "escorting officer" he is required to ensure that "specialist" ritual such as Consecrations, Banner Dedications and the like are performed accurately and in accordance with the directions from the GLMMM. He is available to give advice to Lodges on the correct performance of published ritual and will assist Lodges when needed. He also meets DCs; ADCs and keen ritualists in the newly re opened Fillebrook Lodge.
