"Welcome to the Mark Province of Essex, which was constituted in 1899 with Francis Greville, the 5th  Earl of Warwick being the very first Provincial Grand Master. Since then, it has grown to become one of the largest Mark Provinces in the constitution with 50 Mark Lodges and 41 Royal Ark Mariner Lodges meeting all over Essex in most of the Masonic centres.

 V. W.Bro. Richard Goodwin, and two Assistant Provincial Grand Masters, W.Bro. John Stannard and W.Bro. Geoff Newman.

"For those of you who have not yet taken your “fourth regular step in Freemasonry” this website aims to provide you with information about Mark Masonry and Royal Ark Mariner Masonry in Essex.  Whilst for our existing members it will be a useful resource for information regarding the Province.
 
"It is hoped that by visiting this website you may be encouraged to extend your researches into Freemasonry, and to consider joining the Mark Degree here in Essex. In doing so I am sure you will enjoy the experience for it is known throughout Freemasonry as the ‘friendly’ degree.
 
"Essex is to host the Mark Benevolent Fund Festival for the 5th time in 2030. There is a dedicated festival website with a link to it in the navigation menu.
