It is well known that a few Lodges in the North do finish their evenings a little later than some and Brethren from further away do find themselves getting home closer to midnight. The Northern Star Lodge is not one of these and almost guarantee that Brethren will be finished at a reasonable time. However, it is pleasing to know that those attending from a little further, do get a lovely early start in the morning and can enjoy the peace of driving on near empty roads.
The brethren of the Northern Star Lodge of MMM No. 2012 convened their latest regular meeting on the morning of Saturday 14 March at the Masonic Hall Harwich CO12 3BP. Being a breakfast lodge, the brethren were seated for 0900Hrs for what was an excellent traditional “Full English”.

The lodge was opened in due form at 1000Hrs and the Provincial Grand Master R.W.Bro. John Finlay was admitted and accompanied by his Officers.
The Provincial Grand Master received the Gavel from W.Bro. Bob Lawman, and occupied the Chair, he then introduced his accompanying Officers, and, as a first order of business, delivered a heartfelt eulogy on behalf of our recently departed Pro Grand Master, M.W.Bro. John Herbert Prizeman.
He then addressed the Brethren, and briefly communicated the relevant Parish Notices before returning the Gavel and the Chair to the Worshipful Master.
The requisite minutes were read and adopted, and the Worshipful Master then proceeded to invest those officers not present at the Installation Meeting on 22nd November 2025.
The Addresses to the Wardens, Overseers and Brethren were presented by W.Bro.s Richard Stephens, Bob Crow and John Stannard respectively.
An impressive word-perfect presentation of the Mark Degree Lecture was then ably delivered by W.Bro. Vince Bull and greatly received by the brethren.
Prior to closing the Lodge, the Provincial Grand Master announced that the Northern Star Lodge of MMM No. 2012 had excelled in their support of the Mark Benevolent Fund and had subsequently been awarded Diamond Status. The accompanying certificate and collaret was presented to the Worshipful Master on behalf of the Lodge and the Lodge was again thanked for its continued support.
The Lodge Charity Steward, W.Bro. Jeff Hierons then presented to the Provincial Grand Master a cheque for the sum of £250 in support of the 2030 Festival tandem sky dive event for which the Provincial Grand Master gave grateful thanks.
The Lodge was duly closed and the brethren departed for home having again sampled the pleasures of the Friendly Degree.
