Aurelius Royal Ark Mariner and Mark Lodge Installations
The Aurelius Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners and Mark Master Masons Lodges, No.814 held their Installation meetings on Saturday 5th of September as, due to the previous Covid-19 suspension of Masonic meetings, they were unable to meet at their regular date in April.
This was to be the first non business meeting in the Province since resumption of Masonic activities.
Due to the present Covid restrictions at the Colvin Memorial Temple, Clacton on Sea, they were only allowed 15 to be present at each individual meeting. Understandably, several members did not wish to attend on medical grounds and the current situation with Covid-19, so they were joined by members of the St. Nicholas Lodges from Harwich to assist. Ensuring that all Government and Grand Lodge instructions were followed, the Brethren proceed to carry out both Ceremonies.
The Royal Ark Mariner Lodge saw David Todd (a member of our Media team) Installed as Commander under Dispensation as he had not served as a Master of a Mark Lodge. The Ceremony was carried out by W.Bro. Ken Headworth, now aged 86, who performed a first class Ceremony of Installation. Thus proving that he has not lost any of his enthusiasm for Freemasonry and is a true inspiration to all members of the Lodge!
The Mark Lodge, in an interesting twist, saw Nigel Martin Install the same Ken Headworth as Master in a superb Ceremony, as Ken will be celebrating 50 years as a Mark Man in October 2020 it was felt to be a fitting honour for him to head the Lodge once more. The Working Tools were "presented" by Colin Kendrick, who brought his own set of Covid compliant tools!
Both Lodges had a most enjoyable ceremony for all concerned despite being low on numbers and the members of Aurelius Lodge are extremely grateful to David Rout and Colin Kendrick for their assistance.
