2019 Provincial Grand Officers Mess
Friday, 22nd November saw Essex Grand and Provincial Grand Officers gather at the latest venue for the Mess, that of the Kirby Cross Masonic Centre. This centre sits in the Northeast of our Province and, as well as other Orders, is the permanent home of the Naze Tower Mark Lodge as well as having been the venue for the Consecration of the Northern Star Lodge and
one of it's meeting venues. As is the usual custom, all enjoyed a chat over a "few" drinks in the bar before the meal. This, again, was a change in venue with the PGM continuing to chose a location that was easier for members of the Province to get to rather than having a single venue, judging from the numbers attending, it was, again, clearly a success.
At the conclusion of the meal, last year's President, W.Bro. Chris Hicks, the Past Provincial Grand Junior Warden, welcomed all the brethren to the evening especially and was pleased to propose a toast to the new President and Provincial Grand Junior Warden, W.Bro. Ranjit Bhogal.
W.Bro. Bhogal, of course, took the opportunity of addressing the brethren and edited details of his address are available below. He then went on to propose the toast to our Provincial Grand Master which was met with acclaim as well as finding a few appropriate gifts for him.
The PGM, in his response, reminded all of the ongoing initiatives in Essex as well as reminding all of upcoming events.
As is the usual custom, he also took the opportunity to announce the names of the next Wardens as well as his nomination for Grand Steward. Notes from his address are available below. After having enjoyed a fine four course meal with wine, the brethren retired to the bar for a last chat and a drink or two.
