Tuesday 25 January 2022 saw the presentation of a cheque for £1000 to the Safe Steps Charity at their Southend headquarters by W.Bro Richard Goodwin Assistant Provincial Grand Master and W.Bro Roy Kaye Provincial Grand Almoner on behalf of the Essex Mark Benevolent Fund. Receiving the cheque on behalf of the charity was the Chief Executive Officer of Safe Steps, Sarah Conlon.
Safe Steps is a specialist provider, delivering services in Southend ,Thurrock and throughout Essex. They offer a range of community services to support women, men and children rebuild their lives after domestic abuse.

They offer refuge accommodation, community and outreach services to women fleeing from domestic abuse. Support services for children ,young people and families who have been affected by the trauma of abuse. Also one to one work via counsellors and psychotherapists.
Referrals to their Essex wide helpline have greatly increased since the start of the pandemic. Their mission is to work with and for all survivors of domestic abuse of all ages and genders. We have been pleased to support the great work they do. |
