Tuscan Pillar No.1142 RAM and MMM Lodge Meetings
On 16th October 2020 , and just before the second suspension of Masonic activity came into force, the last Royal Ark Mariner meeting to be held in the Province before the deadline took place. The members of the Tuscan Pillar Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners, No.1142 were able to hold their regular meeting at Upminster Masonic Hall.
The meeting was opened by the Worshipful Commander, W.Bro. Clive Snell and the minutes were presented and approved. The remaining business of the Lodge was conducted, including the proclamation of W.Bro. Clive Snell as Worshipful Commander for the ensuing year. W.Bro. Snell then reappointed all other officers to remain in their current office for the ensuing year.
The meeting was a happy, though subdued, one and the meeting was concluded in regular and ancient form to enable the brethren to prepare themselves and the room for the Tuscan Pillar Mark meeting which followed.
The meeting was opened by the Worshipful Master W.Bro. Arthur Bennett, the minutes of the previous meeting were presented and confirmed. The other business of the Lodge as set out in the summons was then conducted, including the election of the Master for the ensuing year. W. Bro. Bennett being proclaimed for a second term of office.
In these difficult times, although few in number, the members were glad to be able to meet with the each other as this gave some feeling of normality in these difficult times as their last meeting (due back in March 2020) was abandoned due to the Suspension that was in force.
As with the preceding RAM meeting the Covid – 19 regulations ( Rule of Six ) provision resulted in the same stalwarts being present.
The Members retired, to the dining area, where other members and some guests were able to enjoy a restaurant dinner – again all properly socially distanced under the new conditions. It was actually nice to see that the centre have been able to offer this dining experience, which made for a great atmosphere.
