Essex Meals on Wheels Sunday Lunch
.
Testimonials from Meal on Wheels
The Meals on Wheels Sunday Lunch service has proved to be a fantastic success, below are some of the testimonials received from Brethren receiving the meals and from the volunteer drivers delivering the meals.
I would like to say one last thank you to Essex Mark for their generosity over the past 13 weeks giving Sunday lunches to those of us that haven't been able to go out. The Brethren that gave up their time to bring these meals to deserve the biggest thank you because without your kindness and generosity this may not have been possible. Brotherly love, kindness and truth.
Alan Honey
A very big thank you to all MMM who provided us with great Sunday Lunches. John Adams from Naze Tower Lodge joined me in my garden to enjoy our last Mark Sunday Lunch.

I was happy to deliver the final meals to Eddie and Arthur today. Both expressed their thanks for the lovely meals they have received and sent thanks to everyone involved with the meals on wheels. The only down side for me is that I have no excuse not to clear the loft and garage. Sunday morning is now free. It has been a real privilege to have been involved with this. Thank you Terry
Geoff Newman

Dear Roy,
I understand that next Sunday’s very welcome meal delivery will be the last, and I just wanted to express my appreciation for all those meals I have received over the last twelve weeks – perfectly cooked and delivered by a team of volunteers who give up their Sunday morning to make sure that people like me have a good dinner during lockdown. It was an excellent initiative and in the true spirit of Mark masonry. I understand that you were the catalyst in organizing this, and that input came directly from the highest level of Essex masonry. I wish to record my thanks to everybody involved, and I would appreciate your extending my heartfelt thanks to all those who gave up their time. I believe it is quite unique in masonry, and in Mark masonry, and it really shows how much care goes into supporting our elder brethren.
Yours,
John Jewers
I had the honour, if delivering the Sunday Lunches again today. It was a pleasure to do and meet some of our members.
Today, I was honoured to meet Derek Clover, Tony Piercey and George Little - all of whom were graceful to receive their lunches. They all wished everyone well.
Brent McMurray
Thank you for our roast lamb dinner. Its fathers day so a special thanks to all those who delivered them to us.
Alan Honey

A pleasure to once again be asked to deliver the meals on wheels in Rayleigh. Two very grateful recipients. One tells me they are the best meal on wheels she has ever had, and the other warns me about getting the blame for the weight he has put on! Nice to have a chat and to look forward to the end of the lockdown.
Geoff Newman
Another batch of Sunday lunches successfully delivered to Mark Brethren in the SOUTHEND area - all very thankfully received and doubtless being faithfully "applied"!!
Also a great chance to catch up with some good friends in the Mark Degree.
The Father of the Province, W Bro Dick CALDWELL is in good fettle - he is enjoying his new long hair and is reluctant to get it cut!! I've told him I expect to see a good ponytail next time ...
Harry Palmer
Sunday Lunch safely delivered and stowed in the fridge ready for a later lunch as the sun is out so making most of the garden. I think the problem all of us who receive them,Just don't know how to say thanks enough to all who have been involved in this great enterprise. So l will just say THANKS.
Keith Smith
Essex Mark Masons are providing a wonderful service of Sunday Lunches to those who are in need. All Masons should be proud of themselves.
Graham Larke
Thank you for our roast turkey dinner which we thoroughly enjoyed, and mustn't forget the brother you was kind enough to bring it to us.
Alan Honey
A privilege to have been asked again to deliver the MBF meals to those Brethren in Colchester. Walter, Jim and David were all well and send their best regards to the PGM and the team members behind this great scheme. I had a good chat with Jim, who is being kept busy with outdoor work, provided by his family 😅. I spoke with Walter, who is always busy whenever I visit, in his bounty full garden Veg patch. David's wife said they are well and are enjoying the Sunday meals.
Andrew Watson
It is an honour and a privilege, to participate in this great scheme. All the Brethren I delivered to, are always very grateful.
Brent McMurray
RW. PGM,
Today for the first time my wife & I sampled the Mark lunch- actually we divided it in two portions for Dinner. We enjoyed it so very much & now look forward to next Sunday’s lunch.
As a professionally trained chef, at one time responsible for hundreds of varied meals a day, she would especially like to commend the catering team at Brightlingsea.

"Many thanks to all involved in this wonderful Initiative."
Graham Larke.
"All meals on my list from Wivenhoe delivered to the worthy Brethren. The Brethren were glad to see me and we had a small chat just to make sure they were all ok and safe (from a distance I might add).
Everyone appreciated the meal and one thing common to all was that they are missing their Masonry and Brethren.
For myself having been stuck in Harwich for what seems ages, it was a great opportunity to get out of town, I enjoyed the drive to parts unknown and to go such a distance down as far as Heybridge was very enjoyable.
Please keep my name on the list of delivery drivers, I am really happy to help when needed, today has been a joy for me.
Many Thanks, Will await further orders.
This great enterprise arranged by the PGM and his team is admired by the many Masons who are not (as yet) Mark Masons, some a little envious and have said to me" can I buy one for myself."
It is a reflection on what we always say about our Degree, We are "The Friendly Degree" and care very much about each other (not that others don't of course), on seeing this I think it may well encourage those who are not in the Mark Degree, to think about joining us in the future.
Colin Kendrick.
