GRAND LODGE
11 June 2024
A Grand day for EssexOn Tuesday 11 June, at the Mark Grand Lodge, ten Essex Mark Men were honoured with Grand Rank. In the presence of around 1600 men from across the globe, Grand Master, Prince Michael of Kent, personally presented all Grand Ranks. Essex was honoured with the investiture of Grand Secretary Dan Heath, Grand Tyler Paul Busby, Grand Junior Deacon Tony Goater, Grand Steward Geoff Newman and Assistant Grand Secretary Derek Mersch. First appointments went to Rob Sandy as P.A.G.D.C., Phil Richardson as P.A.G.Swd.B., Robin Morley as P.G.St.B. and Bob Crow as P.A.G.Std.B. Essex Mark man Stewart Nardi was invested as Grand Steward on behalf of the Middlesex province.

Our Provincial appointees were supported by P.G.M., R.W.Bro. John Finlay and over 25 other Essex members, who witnessed the ceremony and heard the Grand Master speak positively about the closer relationship which is developing between Mark Grand Lodge and the UGLE. To witness, at the close of the meeting, 1600 Mark Men enthusiastically singing the National Anthem, was a truly memorable experience.
The festive board, at which close to 1000 members dined in four separate areas of the Connaught Rooms, was a delight with the toasts and speeches being clearly presented to all. 23 members were joined in a group photo by Julie Deo from MMH, who is responsible for preparing the Mark year book.

Post meeting, several members relaxed under parasols at The George, before venturing to the four corners (if there are such things) of our Province.
All in all, a magnificent occasion enjoyed by all.
