Resignation and Relocation Guide
It is an inevitable event that, as we go through our masonry, some members will want to resign from some of their Lodges. The current situation with Coronavirus will not have made that any easier and some members may well be considering leaving some units. At the same time, if a member moves he may wish to resign from one Lodge but not be aware other units that may be more suitable. Additionally, members free time may change, or evening meetings might be more difficult. We are all aware that the Craft is trying to address this problem with the addition of a mentor as a Lodge Officers as well as a programme of exit interviews.
As a Province, Essex is also looking to address any of these concerns and now has a Relocation Officer who is there to offer assistance to any Brother who may need to relocate outside the Province of Essex or to change his present Lodge.
The process is being administered by the Provincial Secretary, W.Bro. Paul Busby (whose contact details are in the members section), who will assist if requested in supplying details and contacts to enable a smooth uninterrupted transition to a new Mark and/or Royal Ark Mariner Lodge.
As and when a Lodge secretary is aware of any concerns, proposed resignations or extended absences, he should contact the "Relocation Officer" at the earliest stage to allow the process to be fully implemented. This is a non evasive and simple process and is designed to ensure that members are fully informed of their options and, where and if appropriate, we might sympathetically ensure that there are no problems that we or the Lodge/Provincial Almoner might ned to be involved with too.
If you have any questions or positive comments, the Provincial Secretary will be only too pleased to assist.
Available below is the new and comprehensive advice and process guide from Grand Lodge.
