Aurelius No.814 "Rule of 6 Meeting"
Ken Headworth's 50th Year
The Aurelius Royal Ark Mariner and Mark Master Masons Lodges, No.814 held their regular meetings on Friday 9th of October, at the Colvin Memorial Temple, Clacton on Sea.
The Royal Ark Mariner was opened at 1630, by the Commander, W.Bro. David Todd who, after the end of year business was completed, presented the Lodge with the latest version of the RAM Tracing Board. W.Bro. Todd was very fortunate to receive one of the first newly available tracing boards, thanks to the help of the late Mike Barker, head of Communications at Mark Masons Hall.
W.Bro. Ken Headworth, the IPC, thanked David for the Tracing Board and hoped that he would be able to deliver the lecture on the Tracing Board at some future stage.

The Mark Master Masons Lodge opened at 1730hrs by W.Bro. Ken Headworth, PGSD, who was Advanced into Aurelius Lodge on 9th of October 1970, and it was a fitting tribute to Ken that he is Worshipful Master during his 50th year.
Unbeknown to Ken the Lodge members had made arrangements to honour Ken, but unfortunately Covid-19 put the plans on hold, but they were determined to honour him in some way.
They were due to receive an official visit from the Provincial Grand Master, Right Worshipful Brother Terence D Sheern, accompanied by his Executive and Acting Officers, but this has had to be postponed.
This, however, did not prevent the PGM from writing to Ken to congratulate him on his achievement in the Mark Degree, and hoped to be able to visit Ken and present him with his 50 year certificate in the near future.
As a further mark of respect to Ken, the PGM promoted him to Past Provincial Grand Senior Warden, although Ken is a Grand Officer the PGM wanted to the records to show that the Province had bestowed the highest rank to one of its members and went on to wish Ken all best and to enjoy his cake.
As the Lodge were not able to hold a proper celebration for Ken, he was presented with a 50 year cake to mark the occasion. The letter from the PGM was read to Ken in open Lodge, and the Brethren joined in expressing their best wishes to Ken.
Ken thanked the Lodge members present, and informed the Lodge that he had received a personal letter from the PGM, and was at a loss for words at the unexpected honour bestowed on him by the Provincial Grand Master and for the unexpected cake from members of the Lodge, which he offered to share with all those present after the meeting.
