Our Province has supported the charity SAFE (Supporting difference) for many years now. The organisation provides support for individuals on the autistic spectrum without learning difficulties including their families throughout the County of Essex.
A little while back our Provincial Grand Charity Steward, W.Bro. Peter Maloney, and our Assistant Provincial Grand Master, W.Bro. John Stannard attended one of the groups regular meetings and were so impressed with their work and achievements that they asked the members whether there was anything that they were in need of. One of the members immediately responded with a request for a karaoke machine and this was very much supported by all present.
Accordingly, a suitable machine was selected, and a request submitted to the Essex Mark Benevolent Fund which was readily agreed by all. The machine was duly purchased and W. Bro’s. Maloney and Stannard attended the group’s AGM last Wednesday to make the presentation.
Everyone who was present thanked the Province for such a generous gesture and looked forward to using it at their Christmas party.
Edgar Marchal, Co-opted Trustee, receives the Karaoke machine from our Asst.Prov.G.M, John Stannard, whilst Andria Walter, Development Worker, holds on tight to our Grand Charity Steward, Peter Maloney, at the official presentation.
