Potters Clay RAM and Mark Lodges no.1399

Wednesday 27 November saw R.W.Bro. John Finlay Provincial Grand Master accompanied by 15 of the Provincial Active Officers visit Potters Clay Royal Ark Mariner and Mark Lodges at Harlow.
The RAM Lodge welcomed the Prov.G.M. and the Worshipful Commander W. Bro Michael Levene offered his hearty welcome to the Prov.G.M. and his Officers and commented that it was very pleasing to see so many seats occupied in the Lodge.
The highlight of the evening was to Elevate Brother Jason Watson of Potters Clay Mark, which the Lodge Officers performed in a very competent and enjoyable ceremony which was highly praised by the Prov.G.M. who after the ceremony, welcomed Bro. Jason into the Honourable Fraternity.
The Prov.G.M. then presented a Grand Lodge Certificate to Brother Michael White, in his unique and interesting fashion, and to the delight of those present.

After the regular business of the Lodge post Installation the Lodge closed in harmony and the Temple was made ready for the Mark Lodge.
On opening the Mark Lodge members of the Potters Clay Lodge admitted the Provincial D.C. who informed the Master and Brethren that the Prov.G.M. Right Worshipful Brother John Finlay was outside the door demanding admission, with the Worshipful Master W.Bro. Alan Leverett welcoming the admission of the Prov.G.M. who along with his Active Provincial Officers forming columns escorted the Provincial Grand Master into the Lodge.

The Worshipful Master offered the Gavel to the Prov.G.M. who was pleased to take the Chair of Adoniram for a short time, in which he thanked the Lodge for their welcome and introduced to the Lodge Brethren the Active Officers who had joined him this evening. The Prov.G.M. then was pleased to hand the gavel back to the Worshipful Master.
The main business of the evening was to proclaim W.Bro. Alan Leverett as Worshipful Master Year 2024, he then appointed and invested his Lodge Officers for the ensuing year. The Prov.G.M. delighted all those present with a flawless Address to the Brethren, delivered with sincerity and purpose.
Under the summons heading of the Charity Stewards report, the Worshipful Master presented a cheque on behalf of the Lodge for the M.B.F. 2030 festival, to the Prov.G.M. for the grand sum of £1,000, very much to the gratitude and thanks of the Prov.G.M.,who gave a short rendition on the history and purpose of the M.B.F. and the activities of the Province and Lodges in this festival season, including his own participation in the Zip Wire Challenge, of which he is so looking forward to, (editorial licence here).
The Prov.G.M. congratulated the Lodge on it’s most excellent donation to the M.B.F and said that this now qualifies them for Diamond Status a monumental achievement for the Lodge.

After the regular business of the Lodge all gathered for a Lodge Photo with the P.G.M. Worshipful Master and those Brethren present, after which the Lodge retired in Peace, Harmony and Friendship.
During the Festive Board another Zip Wire Challenger W. Bro. Steve McConell canvased sponsorship for himself and raised £95.
The Worshipful Master presented the Prov.G.M. with the £200.00 proceeds of the Raffle for his participation in the Festival 2030 Zip Wire Challenge and a Large tinned Panettone as a personal gift from the Lodge.
The Prov.G.M. conveyed his thanks to the Brethren of Potters Clay for the friendly welcome they have given to himself, his D.C. and Active Officers during the evening, truly showing that amongst Mark Master Masons we always find friends.
